Message from the President
This year has been one of tremendous growth, renewed energy, and meaningful connection for the 7x24 Exchange Southern California Chapter. As I reflect on 2025, I’m proud of the momentum we’ve built together—expanding our educational programming, strengthening community impact, and launching new initiatives that will shape our chapter for years to come.
We kicked off the year on February 27 with our Q1 Education Event: All About Hydrogen and Data Centers, hosted at the UCI Engineering Department. Attendees enjoyed a highly informative overview of hydrogen technologies—including the hydrogen rainbow—and an engaging discussion on how hydrogen can support future data-center power strategies. The evening wrapped up with a tour of cutting-edge hydrogen research led by UCI’s PhD candidates. Thank you to Total Hydrogen and the entire UCI team for their outstanding support.
On March 20, we held the first-ever meeting of the 7x24 SoCal WiMCO Subcommittee, marking an important milestone in expanding leadership opportunities and representation within the mission-critical community. Several of our WiMCO members immediately stepped up to help plan our first San Diego educational event, demonstrating the enthusiasm and talent within this group.
Just days later, on March 31, we hosted our Fourth Annual Charity Golf Tournament—a tradition that continues to bring our community together for a meaningful cause. Despite the gloomy weather, spirits were high, and the event was filled with camaraderie and laughter. I’m proud to share that we will be donating $10,000 to Pasadena Humane, supporting families impacted by the Eaton Fire, and $5,000 to Helping Hands to continue our chapter’s commitment to community support. A heartfelt thank-you to our sponsors and to my team for their hard work making this event possible.
A major milestone followed on May 29, when we held our Inaugural Q2 Educational Event in San Diego—a vision we had been working toward for over a year. Nearly 60 members gathered at the University of California, San Diego to explore “Sustainability in Data Centers: Tech-Driven Solutions to Unlock Savings, ROI & Rebates.” The expert Q&A panel featured representatives from Enabled Energy, Microsoft, SDG&E, Total Hydrogen, and UCSD Energy Storage Systems. We ended the evening with dinner and drinks on the outdoor patio of the Design & Innovation Building—a perfect setting for connection. Thank you to Hawthorne CAT and H5 Data Centers for making this milestone event possible.
This summer, on July 17, we celebrated with our WiMCO Cruise & Connect, an unforgettable evening on the water filled with meaningful conversation, relaxed views, and great food and drink. Events like these strengthen the relationships that make our chapter so special. A special thank-you to Sunbelt Rentals and C2C Power Solutions for their generous support. Our WiMCO team is already hard at work planning our fall educational program, and I could not be more excited for what’s ahead.
As we look forward to the coming year, I want to thank our sponsors, partners, board members, volunteers, and every member who shows up to learn, collaborate, and build community. None of this would be possible without your continued support and engagement.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you’re interested in sponsoring a future event we offer several partnership options and would be honored to collaborate.
Here’s to another year of education, innovation, and connection across the mission-critical industry!
